1. Hi! Welcome to my humble blog of all things bookish! I would like for us to start by getting to know you. Give us a short bio, please!
Barbara Ferrier is best known for writing Fantasy and Magic books. Sheās inspired by exploring old castles, ancient ruins, and observing peopleās lives. Somehow she survived grade school four times (!) the last three while raising her kids. She enjoys creating characters that represent roles we wish we played and those weāre glad we donāt. Her first career producing television taught her to keep the action moving. While traveling to learn from different cultures, Barbara writes positive human stories that families can share.

2. Tell us 5 fun facts people might not know about you!
1- I am currently traveling to simplify my life and write two new series without distractions. I am inspired to experience a variety of cultures.
2- I write 2,000 words (7 pages on average), early in the day, except when Iām finishing or editing my books. Then I write around the clock and immerse myself completely.
3- When I was eighteen I paralyzed my left hand at work (in a pizza rolling machine). Ouch. In shock in the hospital, after staying up all night, I decided to learn to draw so I could one day design a magical world.
4- I worked as a TV producer in LA ā in the 1980ās. Seven am until midnight was an excessively long work day. It left no time for life or my own creative pursuits. Despite constant promotions, I knew I would regret staying in that lifestyle too long.
5- I painted the magical world these stories take place in over several years while I raised my kids. I also painted some of the characters.
3. To get to know you just a little bit better, Iād like to ask you some āThis or Thatā-questions. Answer 5 of these and explain why you chose this or that, or maybe an entirely different alternative!
Ebooks OR physical books? Both. I love to hold books in my hands, and have a bookcase with the titles of my favorite books facing me in my home. Unfortunately, thatās not practical while traveling or trying to stay minimalist. The ebook solves that problem ā and Iām happy to have so many books with me in such a small space.

Standalone OR series? Series. Once Iām invested in the characters I canāt wait to see what else they do ā or what new problems are thrown their way and how they solve them.
Read multiple books OR one at a time? One at a time.
Signed edition OR first edition? Signed when possible. Once, I waited in line for Allen Lee to sign several Art of the Lord of the Rings books. I loved the skilled, artistic craftsmanship that made that magical world. It was worth the wait to have met him and sign the books to my loved ones.
Zombies OR dragons? Dragons. They come in so many forms and itās always a surprise.
Witches OR vampires? Witches. Vampires give me the creeps. Iāve never been able to read those books. They make me too anxious.
Hero OR anti-hero? Hero. I love to root for them and see how theyāll defeat the villains.
Music while reading OR silence? Silence. I get distracted by sound easily.
Read in bed OR read on sofa? Bed. I love bedtime stories. I listen to Audible most nights so I can āgetā a bedtime story while relaxing before I go to sleep.
4. When you look for books to read, what trope, theme, or type of story will always catch your attention?
I love Arthurian / Medieval themes with rangers in a high stakes environment ā where the world itself is at stake. I also love magic and seeing how it unfolds for good or ill.
5. If you were to describe your writing style using 3 words, what would they be?
Magical, Fun, Heroic,
6. So what do you write? Tell us a bit more about your chosen genre, style and ongoing projects/WIPs/series!
My novels take place in a magical, middle-ages feeling world. Kings and their advisers are villainous. Motivated by greed, selfishness, and believe they are the victims. The Heroes are young protĆ©gĆ©ās in training. Apprentices. The Wizards and Shaman who train them have been charged with protecting the lands and their people. These young heroes do what they can to protect the people from the Kings, despite a lack of experience, and plenty to fear. Determination and developing their nacent magic must prevail.
