🐼 The Adventures of Max & The Captain is yet another great collaboration between Michael Evan and JMD Reid! Their strange yet awfully funny craziness runs deep into this first instalment of their new trilogy. But this one is a little different, compared to their earlier works. It is more thoughtful and lowkey; most heartfelt yet still hilarious. And I loved every bit of it!
🐼 Jamie – or the Captain, as he’s also known – lives a pretty normal life, until a talking panda ends up his best friend, and a booming voice above makes itself known seemingly from nowhere. This story is short and sweet, but also highlights more serious matters, not in the least, with its focus on mental health.
🐼 I found myself not only sighing throughout the sweet moments, but also laughing out loud, and gaping in shock at the twist towards the end! I’m not going to lie – I was sweating for a moment then, until… Nope, I’m not going to spoil. You will have to read it for yourself!
🐼 For lovers of satirical fantasy, all things whimsical and strange, this one is for you! I wholeheartedly recommend it!
