Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars

An undying classic which deserved a thorough read. I am happy I gave it some undivided attention, as I found myself loving it just as much as I did the film adaptation as it first came out, and NOT TO FORGET, the mini-series with Colin Firth, because… Hello! Mr Darcy!! Who doesn’t like the strangely aloof, handsome man who ends up being nothing like what you thought?

“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”

This book has everything to satisfy my need for romance, and with a slow-building love that creeps up on Elizabeth and Mr Darcy as they begin to see each other in a different light. One needs to overcome their pride as the other realises their prejudice. It is a heartfelt read, cheerful, funny, and most certainly worth the read!
